WHAT WE DO
ASSESSMENT
ECC Technologies institutes various approaches to gathering information on assessing local broadband and telecommunications markets, (telecommunication services, availability, and pricing related information, and even supporting infrastructure). These approaches include purchasing information from national telecommunication industry researchers, performing Internet research, sampling, and data mining, conducting user needs assessments, and service provider meetings. Our aim in any assessment is to provide our clients with an accurate picture of their territory.
EVALUATION + PLANNING
Beyond assessing a municipality’s current infrastructure, a key component to moving communities forward in the 21st century is knowing how to fill in the missing pieces of a region’s specific broadband puzzle. ECC is an expert in the field of evaluating a community’s needs, identifying gaps, and developing a path forward. Through business plans and financial modeling, ECC works to help our clients reach their goals.
FUNDING
Our finished products lead to the development of initiatives that are funded by public and private entities and often used to support grant request programs. At ECC we make it a priority to stay on top of all state and federal grant opportunities available to our clients. DESIGN
ECC has a wealth of experience in designing fiber networks, permitting, detailing project schedules, and developing pathway designs. We develop cable design specifications, total project cost estimates and quality review, job packages, and D-mark design. Our staff has over 200 years of combined experience in designing and managing fiber optic backbones and last mile solutions.
PROJECT MANAGEMENT
ECC Technologies has a unique and highly qualified roster of talented and experienced professionals who provide fiber optic construction management, inspection and punch list administration, wide area network configuration, and technical specifications. Our team is responsible for all aspects of construction management from bid administration through build completion. In addition, we have experience in carrier agreements, franchise agreements, E-rate, and negotiating contracts with electric utilities, including pole attachment and conduit agreements.
UTILITY ADMINISTRATION
ECC has worked with numerous utilities, railroads, and state organizations in a managerial role to file the necessary paperwork for fiber builds on our clients’ behalf. We have worked with the Department of Transportation in many NYSDOT regions and are familiar with their policies and procedures, in addition to electric and telephone companies throughout New York and North Carolina. ECC coordinates with utilities to provide path and permit administration and make ready administration on all of our fiber builds.
OPERATIONAL MANAGEMENT
ECC Technologies is more than just a design-build firm, we perform maintenance inspections and schedule and oversee preventative maintenance programs to ensure a high quality reliable, available dark fiber network that meets or exceeds carrier class requirements for networks providing mission critical data services. The team works closely with our clients to improve overall network resilience, reliability and security through the maintenance and backup of fiber records and assignments, periodic network inspections, and recommended diversity improvements.
NETWORK MONETIZATION
ECC has unparalleled experience in developing for-profit opportunities as well as not-for-profit opportunities to monetize the networks we design. The ECC team is unique in that no other consulting team has the depth of experience relative to the building, operating, and use of broadband technologies, and applications. UTILITIES / CLECS
ECC has extensive experience working with utilities and CLECs from the design stage through construction oversight with quality control checks and verification. We handle make-ready management, path and permitting, managing the exhibit process, fulfilling ROW requirements, and every other aspect of network design. We’re versed in normal strand and lash, underground, ADSS, GPON, FTTX, and fixed wireless, among other telecommunications technologies.
ELECTRIC CO-OPS
ECC has become actively involved with helping electric cooperatives design and develop fiber for their internal networks. Many co-ops are looking to partner with service providers to use excess bandwidth on their internal networks or provide broadband service themselves.
EDUCATION
ECC has been providing technology, security, network integration, and broadband services to K-12 and Higher Education clients for over 20 years. We specialize in developing funding strategies for capital projects and broadband services. We engage with many of the Federal and State Agencies to secure funding and obtain agency approvals.
